Our on-site customer services have not changed, but our service employees are observing recommendations regarding social distancing and avoidance of large gatherings, and we follow all individual hospital guidance. It is hard to predict the impact of COVID-19 spread but every effort will be made to meet your needs.

We might be expecting a longer turnaround time due to the implementation of staggered shift for our bench repair engineers who are complying with all WHO guidelines to ensure their safety and wellbeing.

All Hillrom Service Representatives are certified and trained in safety protocols, including infection control, exposure control and contamination control.

    • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gowns, gloves and protective eye wear is made available to Hillrom Service Representatives. If a customer requires that our team members wear additional protective clothing, our Service Representative will comply with additional PPE provided by the customer.
    • In addition to our PPE measures, Hillrom is initiating additional exposure-containment measures, including social distancing, staggered shifts and reducing service touches when not necessary to support patient care.
    • All Hillrom employees, including Hillrom Service Representatives, are required to stay home if they are showing any signs of illness.

Our Medical Affairs team published a letter with more specific instructions, and it is recommended that health care teams take precaution when performing aerosol-generating procedures or procedures that could induce coughing. When performing these procedures: Wear appropriate PPE, limit caregivers in the room, use AIIRs when possible, follow clean and disinfect procedures promptly in accordance with guidance from the CDC and hospital protocol. Refer to the CDC Infection Control website for full recommendations.

It is critical for healthcare facilities to continue to provide care for all patients, irrespective of COVID-19 infection status, at the appropriate level (e.g., home-based care, outpatient, urgent care, emergency room, or hospitalization). Facilities may need to respond to a surge in patients requiring care. Concentrated efforts will be required to mobilize all aspects of healthcare to reduce transmission of disease, direct people to the right level of care, and decrease the burden on the healthcare system.
